Great futures start right here.
Register your child for the 2026–2027 school year at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Detroit. This page walks you through every step of registration — what we ask, why we ask it, and what your family gets in return.
Register early. Grow all year.
Early Bird Registration is open for a full school-year membership at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Detroit.
Throughout the year, Club members will experience sports, wellness, creative arts, chess, hands-on challenges, career exploration, industry experiences, and more — all in a safe and engaging environment.
Young people will have fun, discover new interests, build meaningful connections, and strengthen the confidence, creativity, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills they need to thrive.
Fall is just the beginning. Register early and open the door to a full year of opportunities.

Registration takes 3 steps
The whole thing takes about 15 minutes online. Here's the flow:
Create your parent account
Set up an account with your name, email, and phone number. You'll use this same account for every child in your household — this year and every year after.
Complete the membership questions
This is the longest step — the full member profile for your child. The section-by-section guide below walks through everything it asks.
Review & submit
Confirm your child's Club location, review your answers, and submit. You'll get a confirmation email, and your child is ready for their first day.
Have these ready before you start
- Your child's school name & grade
- Any food, medicine, or other allergies
- Two emergency contacts (name & phone)
- Names of anyone NOT allowed to pick up your child
- Household info (adults, kids, income range)
- About 15 minutes
The membership questions, section by section
Nothing on this form is there by accident. Here's every section you'll see, what it asks, and why we need it. Fields marked required must be completed to submit.
1 Member eligibility & identity Required ▼
You'll answer whether your child is in foster care, and share their racial/ethnic identity and gender. Tribal affiliation is optional. You can also list anyone who is not authorized to pick up your child.
2 Member address Required ▼
Street address, city, state, and zip code.
3 School information Required ▼
Your child's school name, grade, school lunch status (Free/Reduced, Entire School is Free, or Not Eligible), and whether your child has an IEP or 504 plan. Teacher name and school ID number are optional.
4 Allergies & dietary needs Required ▼
Four quick checklists: food allergies, environmental allergies, medicine allergies, and anything else (like latex or perfumes). Select all that apply, or "None." There's a free-text box for anything not listed.
5 Household information Required ▼
This section gives us a picture of your child's home life:
- Who your child lives with (parents, grandparents, guardian, foster care, joint custody, etc.)
- Housing type (own or rent, public housing, transitional, group home, homeless, etc.)
- Number of adults and youth in the home
- Primary language spoken at home
- Household income range
- Any assistance programs your family uses (SNAP, WIC, Medicaid, etc.)
- Parent or guardian's occupation
- Highest level of education completed by a parent or guardian
6 Additional guardians If applicable ▼
If another parent or guardian beyond you should be on the account, add their name, relationship, phone, and email here.
7 Emergency contacts Required — two contacts ▼
Two people we can call if we can't reach you — name, relationship, and mobile phone for each, plus whether each person is authorized to pick up your child. These should be different people from the guardians in Section 6.
8 Military family Required ▼
A yes/no question about whether a parent or guardian serves in the military, and if yes, which branch and whether they're deployed or deploying soon.
9 How you heard about us Required ▼
One quick pick: School, Word of Mouth, Social Media, or Other.
10 Photo consent Your choice ▼
Whether we may use photos of your child in Club newsletters, social media, and materials that show off what our kids accomplish.
11 Mentally Fit program consent Your choice ▼
A series of yes/no consents covering our Mentally Fit behavioral health program — its purpose, privacy protections (HIPAA), confidentiality and its limits, emergency care, and your rights as a parent.
12 Financial assistance Your choice ▼
A simple yes/no: would you like to apply for financial assistance with membership costs?
Quick answers
The things families ask us most during fall registration.
What ages can join?▼
Club membership is open to youth ages 6 through 17. Programs are grouped by age and grade, so kids are always with their peers.
Do I register each of my kids separately?▼
You create one parent account, then complete the membership questions once for each child. Your account info carries over, so the second and third registrations go much faster.
Is my family's information kept private?▼
Yes. Demographic and household details are shared with funders only as combined totals — never with your family's name attached. Health and allergy information is used by Club staff strictly to keep your child safe.
What if I can't afford membership dues?▼
Check "Yes" on the financial assistance question at the end of the form and our team will reach out. We never want cost to be the reason a child isn't at the Club.
Can I update my answers after I submit?▼
Yes — contact your Club's front desk any time your information changes: a new phone number, a new emergency contact, a newly discovered allergy, or a change in who's authorized for pickup. Keeping this current keeps your child safe.
My child's school isn't in the dropdown list. What do I do?▼
Use the "School Name (Other)" field and type it in. Your registration goes through exactly the same.
I got stuck partway through. Who can help?▼
Every Club's front desk staff can walk you through registration in person or over the phone — or finish it with you on the spot. Stop by any Club location and we'll get it done together.
Ready for a great school year?
