On May 18, 2019, Mayor LeRoy D. Burcroff of Romulus and Mayor Kerreen Conley of Belleville joined forces for Annual Mayors’ Ball benefit for Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan.
Club members, parents, community leaders, business representatives, and residents gathered for an evening of dinner, dancing, and an auction to support the Romulus Club and the Richard & Patricia Donahey Club.
Now in it’s 6th year, the gala has become a community staple and a consistent source of funding for the Clubs.
“The one major thing that inspired Mayor Burcroff and I to join together in order to put on this event is that we share a border, but more importantly…it’s about the kids,” said Mayor Kerreen Conley.
With Boys & Girls Clubs serving Romulus, Belleville, Inkster and Sumpter and Van Buren townships, one hundred percent of the $40k in proceeds generated from Saturday’s event will go to impact more than 400 area families.
This year’s Mayors Gala was definitely a night to remember and we look forward to many more to come! Our sincere thanks goes out to the Mayors’ for their continued support of our Clubs.
“If it wasn’t for your support, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do with what we have to support these kids in your community,” said Area Club Director, Jill Covell.
